The rules, in plain language.
By signing in to the Marketing is Prevention portal you agree to these terms. They’re short on purpose. Where the law requires legalese, you’ll find it; everywhere else, we tried to write the way a person would talk to another person.
What this is
The Marketing is Prevention portal is a free, invite-based resource library for behavioral health teams. It’s owned and operated by CaptivContent. Access is granted at our discretion, primarily to people doing behavioral health marketing work or running mission-led organizations.
Your account
One account per person. Don’t share your account with a teammate — invite them separately, it’s free. Sharing mixes everyone’s reading history, bookmarks, and notes, which makes the portal less useful for both of you and skews our analytics.
You’re responsible for the email account you use to sign in. Magic links are single-use and expire quickly, but if your email account is compromised, anyone with access could request a sign-in link. Keep your email secure.
What you can do with the content
Everything you read here is licensed for your personal and your organization’s internal use. You can adapt the frameworks, paste the templates into your own documents, share the ideas in conversations and presentations, and apply them in your campaigns.
You cannot:
- Republish modules or templates verbatim on your own site, blog, newsletter, or social channels.
- Resell or sublicense any of the content.
- Scrape the portal programmatically. (We’ll detect it and suspend the account.)
- Train AI/ML models on the content without explicit written permission.
When you reference our work in something public, attribution is appreciated but not required. (“Adapted from Marketing is Prevention by CaptivContent” is plenty.)
What we can do with the service
We may add, change, retire, or republish modules at any time. We’ll try not to break links members have saved, but unpublishing a module can hide it from your dashboard and paths.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, scrape content, abuse the portal, or behave in ways inconsistent with the trust-first principle the portal is built on.
We may discontinue the portal entirely with reasonable notice. If that ever happens, your data export will still be available for 30 days after the announcement.
Educational content, not professional advice
Disclaimers and limits
The portal is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee that applying the frameworks will produce specific results in your organization — too much depends on your audience, your offering, and your execution.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for anything related to your use of the portal is capped at the amount you’ve paid to use it (which, for the current free portal, is zero).
Privacy
Our handling of your data is documented in the Privacy policy. The short version: we collect what we need to make the portal work, we don’t sell or share it, and you can export or delete it any time from /account.
Changes
We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when anything changes. Material changes get a separate heads-up email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes that can’t be resolved by direct conversation will be handled in courts located in Denver County, Colorado.
